What is this stone?
Moonstone is feldspar. Its characteristic moving sheen is called adularescence: an optical effect, not light generated by the stone.
A meaning you can make your own
You might choose moonstone as a reminder that a change can happen gradually. Write what is ending, what is beginning and what you do not need to decide yet. Its name does not establish an effect on hormones, fertility or sleep.
How to care for it
- Use warm soapy water and handle gently.
- Do not use steam or ultrasonic cleaners.
- Protect it from knocks and sudden heat changes.
Before you buy
Consider where you will wear it: a ring is more exposed to knocks during daily tasks. Ask for a short video in ordinary light to understand the sheen; a bright blue photo is not a certificate of identity.
