Identify the stone first
There is no single cleaning recipe for every crystal. Check the mineral, treatments and any setting or glue before wetting it. If you do not know what it is, start with a dry, soft cloth and ask the seller.
Cleaning and “charging” are different
Cleaning removes dirt. A symbolic ritual can mark an intention, but does not require salt, water, smoke or sunlight. A quiet moment beside a dry stone avoids exposing an unknown material to unnecessary treatments.
A gentle routine
- Prepare a soft cloth and clear a stable surface.
- Use only the cleaning method recommended for the identified material and setting.
- Dry carefully and store pieces separately.
Know when to stop
Do not test a valuable or unknown stone with acid, heat or a scratch test. For loose settings, fragile clusters or uncertain treatments, seek a jeweler’s advice before continuing.
