Start with the use, not a promise
Will you display it, carry it or wear it? A smooth pebble, a pointed cluster and a ring need different handling. Set a comfortable spending limit before comparing pieces; a meaningful object need not be expensive.
Choose a reminder that makes sense to you
A color or texture can represent a personal intention. Try “pause before answering”, “ask clearly” or “review my budget”. You can also use an object you already own. A stone is not a condition for progress.
Questions for the seller
- Ask for the mineral name and whether it has been treated.
- Check dimensions, weight, care instructions and the return policy.
- For a significant purchase, ask what independent identification is available.
Natural, laboratory-grown or imitation?
These labels describe different things. An imitation resembles another gem; it is not the same category as a laboratory-grown version of that material. Ask the seller to explain the exact wording instead of judging from a beautiful photograph.
