Use the island to identify the town
Distinguish Santa Cruz de Tenerife from Santa Cruz de La Palma, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria from the province of Las Palmas. Keep the actual birth municipality. Living in Madrid today does not change a Canary Islands birthplace.
Do not add an hour yourself
The Spanish Navy Observatory distinguishes Canary Islands time from mainland time in its explanation of seasonal clock changes. Enter the recorded local birth time. The date and birthplace time zone determine its interpretation; today’s offset is not a rule for every birth year.
A practical form check
Separate day, month and year before entering them; confirm the order of an ambiguous date such as 04/05. A time of 7:15 PM is 19:15. Use your birthplace even while travelling, and do not convert the time to UTC yourself.
